Guide
Immergood Freezer Maintenance Basics
How do I clean and store an Immergood ice cream freezer?
Drain the salt brine, promptly wash and completely dry the can, lid, dasher, tub, and drive after every batch. Store components dry and check the can fit, latch, scrapers, and drive before the next use; follow the owner guidance for your exact motorized model.
After each batch, empty leftover brine from the tub, then wash the can, lid, and dasher with warm, soapy water. Rinse well and dry thoroughly. Salt brine, dairy residue, and trapped moisture are a poor combination for clean storage.
After every batch
- Drain the saltwater brine from the tub away from surfaces that can be damaged by salt.
- Wash the can, lid, dasher, and removable food-contact parts promptly; do not leave dairy residue to dry.
- Dry the inside and outside of the can, dasher, lid, tub, and gear frame before putting them away.
- Store the can open or loosely covered in a clean, dry location so odors and moisture cannot be trapped.
Pre-season and pre-batch check
Look over the stainless can, lid, dasher scrapers, tub latches, and drive hardware. Make sure the can seats correctly and the drive turns freely before filling it. For motorized models, inspect the cord or battery connection and follow the model-specific manual. Stop and replace damaged parts rather than forcing a leaking can, loose latch, or binding drive.
Parts and long-term storage
Keep ice-cream salt sealed and dry. When storing a freezer for a season, make certain all components are dry first, then keep accessories together so the correct lid, dasher, and drive parts stay with the freezer. Cottage Craft Works carries Immergood service parts, but confirm your size and exact model before ordering.
