Sewing Equipment
Measure the sewing machine as installed—width, depth, height, weight, spindle, and cords—before choosing a cabinet. Cottage Craft Works standard German air lifts support machines up to 50 lb and 14-3/4 in. tall; the extra-tall lift supports up to 60 lb with 16-1/2 in. travel. Also plan a properly sized insert, fabric support, storage, and room clearance.

About this library
An Amish sewing cabinet is more than machine storage: it is a work surface, a lift system, and furniture that can close up when the sewing day is over. Start with your machine’s installed width, depth, height, and weight—including the spindle, cord, and controls that remain on the machine when it is lowered.
Then choose the cabinet footprint, work-surface support, storage, and lift travel for the way you sew. Cottage Craft Works cabinets pair solid-hardwood high-wear surfaces with German-made air lifts; larger embroidery and quilting machines may need an extra-tall, 60 lb lift and a larger opening. Browse the cabinet and lift guides below before ordering a custom template or retrofit hardware.
